Did you celebrate your progress with a coach this week?

Coach Sall

Did you celebrate your progress with a Coach this week? Do you find it easy to spot your wins? Or are you focused on that number (probably on the scale) and continually disappointed?

If you’ve been disappointed this week, or struggle to see your success and small achievements then I’ve been thinking about you a lot this week, because I’ve been wondering, why so hard on yourself?

(And if that IS you, don’t worry, you are not alone! In fact, you’re in the vast majority, which is why I spent a lot of time on this!)

After much thought, and about 10 rewrites of this email I got there.

Unless you take the time to track your ACTIONS, notice or record of all the things you are doing towards your goal, then your brain, wired to expect a certain outcome, will only spotlight where that outcome is missing.

Read that again, because it’s taken me a while to get there and I’ve only got a couple of hundred words to get this across to you today.

You see, the problem here is really about expectations, but there’s nothing wrong with your goal, and there’s nothing with expecting to achieve it.

What you really need to get clear on, and I mean very clear, is everything you have done this week that moved the needle for you.

Weight loss, health, fitness are all LONG TERM rewards for what you are doing. What you did this week is an investment in your future, which if you repeat it week in and week out will change your life in unimaginable ways.

You need your brain to notice the actions you are taking each day towards that long term goal, else it won’t understand why you’re not there yet. You will find yourself losing interest, struggling to sustain your new habits and getting into a cycle of blaming yourself and searching for the next magic answer.
