Calorie Deficit; Part 2
Exercise!
We braved it! (And yes, it made us grrrrrrrrrr!) But, of course, we are much more in our comfort zone talking about the exercise component of this puzzle. Two people who have been standing up against diet culture for so many years see exercise in a different light, today we’re here to talk about the science of it’s part in creating a calorie deficit. If we can convince you to exercise for all the other benefits, then it’s a win for you, your body and your health.
Creating a calorie deficit can be done in 2 ways, and most people will immediately jump to traditional dieting (cutting calories). The other way is of course with exercise. The traditional view on this of calories in vs calories out has led to a distorted view of how it works. It is not a literal equation you can balance - eat 100 calories, and burn off 150. You CANNOT burn off the cake/chips/alcohol!
The 2 approaches should be considered as 2 parts that work together but to keep things simple and bust some myths in a way that's easier to track we are tackling them one at a time.
In this episode we are talking about moving your body, which is kind of our speciality!
Exercise is such a great way to create a calorie deficit because you get the opportunity to BUILD yourself a new body. It also solves some of the issues you may have encountered with cutting calories from your food because you change the focu to really nourishing and FUELLING your body.
Exercise is an efficient way to create the deficit and it has sooooooooooo many more benefits than cutting the calories from your food :)
We’re here to bust some myths, explain so truths and simplify what this looks like in practice.
We've got some tips for you in this episode that you may not have heard before, or may not have considered to be very valuable in your quest to change your body composition.
