10 reasons why it doesn’t matter if you gained weight over Christmas

Coach Sall

All week I’ve been planning an email about why it doesn’t matter if you put on a bit of weight over Christmas. It’s a really important message and I wanted to do something really catchy like “10 Reasons it doesn’t matter if you gained weight over Christmas”.

But honestly, I can’t think of 10 reasons.

I can only think of 1 that’s worth talking about.

And that’s your wellbeing.

Because we are so conditioned to believe that weight gain is a terrible shameful thing, that it’s all our fault, and that we are greedy and lazy, that we forget how our bodies work (especially women’s bodies).

And while we’re feeling all those emotions of regret and guilt and our self-esteem is in the toilet, we end up seeking comfort, or avoiding the things that would help us the most.

So, if you haven’t been back to the gym yet, get yourself there, not because you have to burn anything off, but because it makes you feel good.

It doesn’t matter if you feel like it, feelings often follow actions so take action.

Check in with your Coach and figure out what you achieved in the last 30 days (there was definitely something) and set some awesome and achievable goals for the next 30 days that have absolutely nothing to do with anything you ate or drank in the last 2 weeks (or 2 years… whatever!).

Be inspired by what your body does and be empowered by it.
