Don’t let the urgent put a stop to what’s important
Coach Sall
BTW it’s you, you’re what’s important!
I am always campaigning for you to make yourself a priority and to make your workouts the most important thing you do in a day, while at the same time I watch women be afraid to plan a workout “just in case something crops up" or listen to the 24 reasons they didn’t come for a workout last month.
I know things happen, I know your people need you, but I also know that if you DECIDE that you’re going to come, then you’ll come.
This is proved in glorious sticker chaos with our “12 Workouts till Christmas” challenge where we commonly hear “I’m definitely coming because I need that sticker, nothing is going to stop me”!
What??????
You’ll do it for a sticker but not for your own good health? Well, yes, that is often the reality.
Newsflash, we KNOW this! That challenge is designed to keep your focus on what’s important when there are also urgent things to do and give you the experience that you can handle both.
Sometimes the urgent can be so loud, that we react quickly and it puts a stop to what’s important. A ‘little’ thing like a sticker gives what’s important a louder voice.
Next time something urgent crops up, take a moment to listen out for what’s important that might be getting drowned out by the noise that (someone else’s?) urgency makes. Then decide how you can handle both. (Because you’d do it for a sticker!)
