Screen Time Notification
Coach Sall
We all know that making the time to workout can feel tough, it IS tough sometimes.
It’s something that is always highlighted to me when I speak to new members and see the change in how they schedule their time.
Which brings me back to my conversation with Emma (who I mentioned in last week’s email).
She had surprised herself with how well she was doing in getting her workouts and “finding” the time (we all know we don’t “find” it do we? We’d be searching forever 😂 We “make” it by making ourselves a part of the priority list 👇).
When I said, “It’s not like you were sat around with 30 minutes to spare every day before you joined Curves were you?” she was brutally honest….
Ever get your screen time notification and think “that wasn’t me! Must have been someone else!”? Yeah, me too!
Emma knew what had been sucking up her time and we all get trapped in it in some form.
And maybe you don’t (or you don’t think you do) but imagine if you DID get notifications of how much time you spent doing certain things... you might want to blame someone else for it too! And you might just find 30 minutes for a workout (just sayin’).
I’m not suggesting giving them up. No, no, no. We all need those things in our lives, they help us switch off, regulate our frustrations or we simply enjoy them.
Just like your loved ones though, everything should have its place in your time and its boundaries.
It’s not you or them, it’s not workout or read a book, it’s not give up social media so I can workout for 30 minutes, it’s not work or workouts.
It's them AND you, It’s healthy, firm (but flexible) boundaries, mixed with a little discipline to get you out the door and honour the commitment you made to yourself.
