Vocal Rehab for X Factor

Coach Sall

I know the last few emails have given you a lot to think about. As always, there’s no pressure, these emails are for encouragement, direction and support. Ignore what you are not ready for, or what doesn’t apply or resonate with you.

There’s no getting away from the fact that your X-factor IS important. It can also feel hard. Sometimes we’re just in a place where we just want to go the gym, do our thing, feel good, be happy.

And if that’s you right now – that’s great. You can do the X-factor stuff ready for a time when you need it or save it and do it another day.

If you can see it would be useful, but you are struggling to get started or finished with it here’s a little tip for you.

If anything you have thought of or written begins with “I need”, “I want” or even “I’m going to” try changing it to “I’m doing this because…”, “I work out at Curves because”, “I am Strength Training three times a week because..”.

Remember we’re using this to galvanise us into action on the days we find it tough to get motivated or life is throwing distractions at us. “I’m doing this because…” puts you in action in the moment.

If that jars you or you feel some resistance to it then try “I’m going to” which puts your action in the future but quickly move to “I’ve decided to”, and onwards in your mindset to “I will” or “I am” as soon as you can.

Your words are very powerful over your emotions.
